Some examples of what we were working on in the spring and summer of 2011:
IDENTITY & WAYFINDING
The work on the temporary use of Kalasatama area continued. Commissioned by the City of Helsinki, and done in collaboration with Part., our work included designing all graphic communication for the area: signage, posters, leaflets etc. etc. Kalasataman Startti -event for example, held in Suvilahti cultural centre, was an exhibition about the future of the area. Besides this work we continued work and collaboration with the artists and other users of the area, including Ihana Kahvila and Lapin Kulta Solar Kitchen among others. Good introduction to the variety of things happening in Kalasatama is Urban Dream Management, a blog run by Hella.
POP-UP BAR/SHOP
In collaboration with Katriina Lankinen, Tuomas Siitonen was responsible for designing a mobile bar/clothes shop for Heineken. The shop will pop up in Helsinki in the beginning of September 2011. Will post more images!
HOME FOR ARTISTS
We have been designing a 150 m2 house for a private client in Helsinki. Building work will start in autumn of 2011.
COMPETITIONS
Besides these we had time to work on some competitions, this image is from our entry for the Serlachius Art Museum competition (rendering by Studio Lumart).
WORKSHOPPING
In June Tuomas Siitonen held a lecture and a workshop at the national architectural students gathering. Thanks, it was great!
